Mimecast for Outlook - Installing Standalone

Prerequisites

Before installing Mimecast for Outlook, ensure:

  • All Prerequisites have been met.
  • You have the latest version of the Mimecast Plugin (such as v7.10.1.133).
  • Microsoft Outlook is closed.

Installing Mimecast for Outlook

To install Mimecast for Outlook:

  1. Download the Mimecast for Outlook client.

    The download must match the version of your Microsoft Outlook installation, not your Windows operating system version.

  2. Run the Mimecast for Outlook executable.
  3. Click on Next, to start the installation.
  4. Read the End User License Agreement.
  5. Click on I accept the terms in the License Agreement.
  6. Click on Next.
  7. A check is performed to ensure all Prerequisites are met.
  8. If all prerequisites are met, click on Next.
  9. Specify the Installation Directory by either selecting:
    • The default folder location.
    • A new location by clicking the Change button.
  1. Click on Install.
  2. Click on Finish.
  3. Microsoft Outlook starts automatically when exiting the installation wizard.

If the plugin does not display after installation, you may need to verify the installation, or check compatibility with your specific Microsoft Outlook version.
