Web Security - Configuring Locations

This article explains how to configure Locations for the Mimecast Security Agent, and is intended for use by Administrators.

Mimecast Web Security locations are defined as the Egress IP address of a network and allow you to manage your protected corporate locations.

The Egress IP address (location) is associated with every DNS and web request coming from a network and is used to map configured policies to the request. Locations must be defined for each Egress IP address used to generate a DNS request.

Locations must be configured before configuring your DNS server to point to Mimecast. See Configuring DNS Forwarders/Gateway for more information.
