Overview

Mimecast is pleased to announce the availability of reporting enhancements to Targeted Threat Protections' URL Protect feature, allowing administrators to easily report False Positive / False Negative URLs for reclassification directly from the Mimecast Administration Console.

What's changing

Previously, customers reporting URLs to Mimecast involved the customer raising a support case to be assigned and triaged by our Messaging Security Team. Our new reporting feature allows administrators to easily report false positives or negatives directly from the Mimecast Administration Console, eliminating the need for customer-created support tickets and improving time to resolution.

To report a URL for re-categorization using the Mimecast Administration Console, perform the following steps.

1. Log on to the Mimecast Administration Console.
2. Navigate to Email Security | URL Protection | Logs
3. Search for and select the URL log entry line.
4. Select the Check URL tab on the pop-out panel, and click Scan.

 

5. Click Report.

6. Complete the Propose a new verdict section, selecting whether you believe the URL to be either Safe or Malicious and optionally provide any additional details to our Messaging Security Team that may assist with the review.

7. Click Report: The report will now be submitted, and you will receive feedback from Mimecast when the URL has been investigated.

If you disagree with a categorization decision, you can dispute it by following the steps in this article. 

Recommended actions 

There are no actions required for the customer to take. This feature will be enabled automatically for customers with an active Targeted Threat Protection - URL Protect subscription.
