Mimecast Administration Console - Managing Favorites

This article contains information on configuring Mimecast connectors for cloud services, on-premises Exchange, and hybrid environments, including setup steps, prerequisites, editing, deleting, and multi-tenancy considerations to ensure seamless integration with Mimecast services.

Walkthrough

You can mark up to ten Mimecast Administration Console dialogs as favorites. This allows you to quickly access a function from a toolbar icon without having to navigate through the menus. For example, if you are:

      • Responsible for amending the roles for users, you can set the roles and permissions dialog as a favorite.
      • Frequently creating or amending policies, you can add the gateway policies dialog as a favorite.

Adding/Removing a Dialog to/from Your Favorites

You can add/remove a dialog to/from your favorites from the following locations:

  • Menu item list
  • A dialog. This is currently only available on some dialogs, but more are being added going forward.

If you try to create more than ten favorites, the following error message is displayed. To add another favorite, you must first remove one of the existing entries.

Adding/Removing a Favorite Using the Menu Item List

To add/remove a favorite from the menu item list:

  1. Click on the Administration toolbar menu item.
  2. Click on the star icon after the menu item name. This has one of the following states:
    Icon Description
    Administration Console Managing_1_1 This icon signifies the menu item is not currently part of your favorites. If clicked, the icon changes to the icon below, and the menu item is added to your favorites.
    Administration Console Managing_1_2 This icon signifies the menu item is part of your favorites. If clicked, the icon changes to the icon above, and the menu item is removed from your favorites.

Adding/Removing a Favorite From a Dialog

To add/remove a favorite from a dialog:

  1. Click on one of the following icons:
    Icon Description
    Administration Console Managing_1_3 This icon signifies the dialog is not currently part of your favorites. If clicked, the icon changes to the icon below, and the dialog is added to your favorites.

    This icon signifies the dialog is part of your favorites. If clicked, the icon changes to the icon above, and the dialog is removed from your favorites.

Accessing a Dialog From Your Favorites

To access your list of favorites:

  1. Click on the Administration Console Managing_1_5 toolbar icon. Your list of favorite dialogs is displayed.
  2. Select a dialog from the list. The dialog is opened.

A visual indicator is displayed in the list (see right) to show you how many favorites you have assigned. A maximum of 10 favorites may be assigned.
