US customers will receive MEP upon the 2.0 upgrade. See Knowledge Base for MEP Details HERE.
Misaddressed Email Protection (MEP) hold

Released email still generates a hold until MEP establishes “Strong Communication”.
It may result in more subsequent and desired holds than v1.

Rules are not effective and are redundant with Cloud Gateway processing.
Banner - Red Banners (Behavior)
Reporting by a single user updates all banners in the grid to red for the applicable email.
Reporting only impacts specific users until Mimecast Security Analysts confirm the status of the email, then will apply to all grid users.
See the Knowledge Base article for Banner Behavior HERE.
Banner – Rules (Behavior)
No-Reply” addresses get “You’ve never repliedbanner.
Rule no longer applies to most common “no-reply” addresses.
See the Knowledge Base article for Banner Rules HERE.
Banner – Rule Evaluation
Rule evaluation is sequenced and grouped - therefore, not all rules are evaluated.
All Rules evaluated through parallel processing.
Note: More Rule evaluation may lead to more Rules being displayed within banners.
Banner – Rule Evaluation
Rules evaluation based on sender Header or Envelope Address.
Evaluation based on Header Address.
Bulk emails that reuse user name with multiple email addresses can repeatedly trigger '1st mail' rules. Rule evaluation using Header address has been shown to reduce these instances.
Banner – Content (Behavior)
All applicable Rules are listed within the displayed banner.
All rules are listed unless a "blocklist " rule applies, in which case only a blocklist will be listed.
"Blocklist" rules take precedence.
Banner – End User Reporting
The user can report an email at any time.
The user has 90 days to report the email.
Note: after 90 days, the user will get the error message if attempting to report the message.
Banner – Reporting Method
"Magic Link" reporting

See the Knowledge Base article for End User Experience HERE.
Banner – Reporting Setting

Can disable user email reporting for Dynamic and Text Banners.
See the Knowledge Base article for Policy Configuration HERE.
Banner – Dynamic Behavior
The Banner is Reassessed each time it is opened, or, after 3 Days.
Efficiency: Banner Updates Only if Blocklist or Safe Analysis changes.
Upon subsequent viewing, v2.0 Checks for Changes in the Sender/Recipient Relationship
  • If marked as SAFE, the banner is hidden.
  • If marked as DANGEROUS, the "blocklist" (red) banner is displayed.
  • Otherwise, the original banner is shown.
