Overview

Mimecast is pleased to announce improvements in Impersonation Detection for Email Security Cloud Integrated, which will protect users against business email compromise.

What's changing

The Phishing Detection Engine now includes the following impersonation checks:

• Mimecast Threat Dictionary.
• Reply to Address Mismatch.
• Payloadless Message Checks (Messages containing Plain Text without attachments and URLs).
• Free Mail Domain Checks.
• Internal User Checks.

You will not be able to supply your own Threat Dictionaries or custom display names.

By setting the Aggressiveness within your Phishing Detection Engine Settings to Moderate, a detection will be made if there are three hits from the above checks. If your setting is Aggressive, two hits from these checks will trigger a detection.

These detections will appear as Phishing within the Detections view.
