Introduction
Mimecast Awareness Targeted Training modules are training videos sent to a specific groups of users (e.g. a department or users with lower phishing scores).
Targeted Training differs from Company Wide Training, which are modules scheduled and sent to all Default User Groups.
Use Targeted Training to reinforce Cyber Awareness lessons for users requiring reinforcement of email security best practices, or for content specific to a select group of users (e.g. Executive training for Executives)
Once a user has completed a Targeted Training module, they do not have access to the knowledge question or custom content.
Considerations
The following considerations must be taken into account when scheduling a campaign:
- Targeted Training campaigns are sent to Select Groups of users when the module is scheduled.
- Targeted Training campaigns do not include sentiment questions.
Targeted Training campaigns will issue weekly reminder emails on a Tuesday, that include details of outstanding Targeted Training.
Reminders will be sent again the next Tuesday, unless your users complete the outstanding Targeted Training module, or you delete the Targeted Training module.
- Targeted Training statistics are not reflected within the Program Overview page, nor do they affect Company Wide Training performance metrics.
- Targeted Training campaign statistics are located directly within the details of each Targeted Training module.
Scheduling a Targeted Training Campaign
When first logging in to the Mimecast Awareness Training dashboard, the Targeted Training queue is empty. Any Content Library video can be scheduled in a Target Training campaign, with the exception of the Training Overview video.
You can schedule a Targeted Training campaign, by using the following steps:
- Log in to the Mimecast Awareness Training platform.
- Navigate to Training Queues | Content Library.
- Hover over the Module Image.
- Click Add to Targeted Queue.
If a module is already part of a Targeted Training campaign, the In Targeted Training button is displayed and greyed out.
To schedule an additional Targeted Training module, find the module title in your Targeted Training Queue, and click Add Campaign.
- Complete the Add Campaign dialog as follows:
| Field / Option | Description |
| Name | Enter a name for your Targeted Training campaign (e.g. GD-PR Awareness Training). |
| Select Group |
Select a group of users from the dropdown
list. These are the users (directory or profile groups) who'll
receive the training module.
It is recommended that each user email address be present
in a Mimecast
Local Profile Group, or
Directory Group. |
| Launch Date |
Click in the field to display a calendar, from which you can select a start date for the Targeted Training campaign. You can have more than one Targeted Training campaign scheduled on the same day. We recommend selecting a date in the future that allows you to visit and amend the targeted training should it be required. Once a campaign is launched, the schedule can't be changed. |
- Click on the Create button. The module is added to the scheduled Targeted Training queue.
