Issue

RTF Messages

During a continuity mode, Rich Text Format (RTF) messages are not supported for transmission. Hyperlinks may be received as exploded links when transmitted in RTF format in Continuity mode. HTML or plain text are supported formats during a Continuity event.

Workaround

  • N/A.

Issue

Reply All in Continuity Mode

If you receive a message that includes a number of recipients during a Continuity event, and reply using Reply All, the sender is included in the To list. The sender is also sent the reply when the message goes out.

Workaround

  • N/A.

Issue

Distribution Lists

Email servers may provide Distribution List (DL) functionality to group any number of mailbox addresses together within one email address. For example, the DL address may contain several other mailbox addresses, so that when Mimecast delivers the email to the address, the email server sends a copy of the email to all members of the DL.

As this feature is provided by the email server, during a continuity event messages will be delivered to the DL address, but not to the individual mailbox addresses contained in the DL. Depending on the needs of the organization, administrators may choose to provide these DL members with the option to delegate mailbox access to the DL address. During a continuity event, end users are able to access the DL email address via one of the Mimecast user applications.

Workaround

  • N/A.

Issue

Sorting Messages in Archive Folders

When sorting messages in replicated folders, you need to ensure that the Sort in Groups option is not enabled. Otherwise sorting emails by Date, From, etc., will result in emails being arranged in separate groups.

Workaround

  • Ensure that the Sort in Groups option is not enabled.

Issue

Multiple Instances of Mimecast for Outlook for a Single User

Currently, you are only able to have one authenticated session running per user. If the user creates multiple connections to Mimecast for Outlook, the session will hang, as these two instances of Mimecast for Outlook are essentially competing for that single session.

Workaround

  • Ensure there is only one authenticated session running per user

Issue

Third-Party Applications and adxloader Conflicts

Mimecast uses the Add-In Express product to integrate with Microsoft Outlook. As this is a common method used by many third-party apps, conflicts may be experienced and Mimecast for Outlook may not be permitted to communicate successfully with Mimecast.

Workaround

  •  N/A.

Issue

Mimecast for Outlook is Unresponsive

The end user's Microsoft Outlook window turns white, and the application becomes unresponsive. This issue can be caused by the following:

  • An unsupported username character limit in the .NET Framework.
  • For multi-user environments, authentication may be failing on the SQL server. This is most likely due to SQL password expiration for the Mimecast account.

Workaround

  • Reduce the username length to 19 characters and below.
  • Update the SQL user password and ensure that it is set to not expire.

Issue

Message Preview

When reading an email using Mimecast for Outlook Protected Message Preview, the received date and time may not display in the operating system's localized format.

Workaround

  •  N/A.
