What's changing
Within the Spam Scanning Definitions page, an 'Auto Allow Spam Detection Level' dropdown will now be available. This dropdown allows users to adjust the level of spam checks on emails sent by senders on the Auto Allow list, to minimize unwanted emails being delivered to end users. It is recommended that this setting be tested to determine which one is most suitable for your environment. The following four setting options will be available:
- None: No spam scanning will be performed on auto allowed emails with this option selected.
- Relaxed: Auto-allow spam detection action will be applied on emails with a spam score of at least 28 points.
- Moderate: Auto-allow spam detection action will be applied on emails with a spam score of at least 28 points, and, high confidence phishing and malicious emails will be targeted (emails that belong to phishing or malicious category and have a spam score >= 20).
- Aggressive: Auto-allow spam detection action will be applied on emails with a spam score of at least 28 points, and, medium confidence phishing and malicious emails will be targeted (emails that belong to phishing or malicious category and have a spam score >= 14). This setting will significantly reduce potential phishing and malicious emails, but may lead to false positives.
Recommended actions
The Auto Allow Spam Detection Level will be set to Relaxed by default. Should you wish to adjust this, you can do so within the Spam Scanning Definitions page in the Administration Console. Additionally, take note of the Considerations regarding this feature in Spam Scanning.
