Awareness Training - Specifying Custom User Email Name

This article describes how to select a custom attribute to use when sending a message, and is intended for Administrators.
This prevents the display name associated with the user's email account from being displayed, and is achieved by selecting a custom attribute to use when an email is sent.

If a custom attribute is selected, the name used in the message is the value or string associated with that attribute.

For more information about Directory Attributes, see Managing Directory Attributes.

This is only available on Email Security Cloud Gateway.

Specifying Custom User Email Name

To select an attribute to use when sending a message, you must set up all of the following.

Importing the Attribute Data

Importing attribute data can be performed:

Manually importing a spreadsheet offers more control and is useful when adding a customized property field to a user email address. To import the attribute data via a spreadsheet, you must have:

  • A preconfigured spreadsheet with a separate column for the attribute and its data.
  • Write access to the Users & Groups menu item in the Mimecast Administration Console.

To import the attribute data, see the Importing the Attributes Data section of Performance Analysis Custom Attributes.

Adding the Attribute

To add the attribute, see the Adding the Attributes section of Performance Analysis Custom Attributes.

Changing the Email Recipient Name
