DMARC Analyzer - Namecheap Setup

This guide provides a comprehensive guide on how to publish a DMARC record in Namecheap. DMARC Analyzer will aid you to generate your own custom DMARC record.

After generating your DMARC record you should follow these simple steps to publish your DMARC record into your Namecheap DNS:

This guide only works if you have the BasicDNS, BackupDNS (a legacy option), PremiumDNS, or FreeDNS option within your Namecheap account. 

  1. Log in to your Namecheap account.
  2. Navigate to your Domain List
  3. Click on the Manage button next to the domain you’d like to set up DMARC for.

  1. Click on the Advanced DNS tab.
  2. Click on the Add new record button.

If you already see a record with the name "_dmarc", edit this record instead of creating a new record. This is important because you can't have multiple DMARC records.

  1. Complete the fields as follows:
  • Type: Select TXT Record 
  • Host: Enter "_dmarc"
  • Value: Find your custom DMARC Analyzer address in your DMARC Analyzer account under Setup and enter it as the Value. Then click Save all changes to store your update in the DNS.

  1. To update your DNS, click on the Save All Changes button.
  2. You should now wait sometime before the first reports will start to arrive in the DMARC Analyzer. This is due to DNS caching and the fact that the ISPs mostly send one report each day. This can take upto 72 hours.
