Connect Process - Managing Forwarding Addresses

Customers currently using the Connect Application are advised to complete their onboarding setup as soon as possible, as the Connect Application is scheduled to be discontinued on the 31st of January, 2024.

This article contains information on managing forwarding addresses in Mimecast's Connect Application, detailing steps to add or remove external email addresses for relay mail forwarding rules, ensuring proper email routing and management.

This includes any external members of publicly accessible distribution lists. For instance, if an email is sent to usera@domain.com and forwarded to usera@external-domain.com, it's essential to register usera@external-domain.com. This is done by adding the forwarding email address to all relay rules on your mail server.

Adding Forwarding Addresses

To add a forwarding address:

  1. Click on the Optional | Forwarding Addresses menu item.
  2. Click on the Start button. Any existing forwarding addresses are displayed.
  3. Click on the Add Addresses button. The "Enter the Addresses" tab of the Add Forwarding Address dialog is displayed.
  4. Enter all your External Email Addresses, with each on a separate line.
Note: Up to 50 addresses can be added at any one time. If you have more than 50, just repeat the process in batches of 50 or less.
  5. Click on the Continue button. The "Confirm the Addresses" tab of the Add Forwarding Address dialog is displayed.
  6. Optionally click on the Remove link to the right of an address if it has been included in error.
