This article contains information on exporting Microsoft Teams data using the Mimecast Administration Console. It details steps for initiating and downloading exports, setting export parameters, and receiving notifications.
To create a Microsoft Teams data export:
- Log in to the Mimecast Administration Console from Mimecast My Apps.
- Navigate to Archive | Case Review.
- Complete a search with Microsoft Teams as the Message Type. See the Archive For Microsoft Teams - Archive Search page for full details.
- Click on Search | Export All.
- Populate the fields below:

Enter a relevant name for the export. |
| Reason |
Enter a description for the reason for the export. |
| Data Type | All Data is set automatically and cannot be changed. The export contains full message content and metadata. |
| Export Format | ZIP is set automatically and cannot be changed. ZIP contains separate compressed files which each conversation having its own dedicated folder. |
| Notification | Enter an internal email address to be notified when the export is ready to download. Separate multiple entries with a space or comma. |
- Click Start Export.
- Click Export to review and download exports.
- Download metadata and/or parts of the export by clicking on the download icon
