This article contains information on exporting Microsoft Teams data using the Mimecast Administration Console. It details steps for initiating and downloading exports, setting export parameters, and receiving notifications.
To create a Microsoft Teams data export:
- Log into the Mimecast Administration Console.
- Click Data Governance & Compliance | Case Review.
- Complete a search with Microsoft Teams as the Message Type. See the Archive For Microsoft Teams - Archive Search page for full details.
- Click Search | Export All.
- Populate the fields below:
| Field / Option | Description |
| Name | Provide a name for the export (e.g. the case and review set name). |
| Reason | Enter a reason for the export (e.g. litigation detail). |
| Data Type |
Select the type of data to be exported:

| Export Format |
Select the file format for the export. This can be PST or ZIP. This option is only available if the Data Type field is set to All Data. |
| Metadata Format | Specifies the output file format for the message metadata. |
| ZIP File Type |
Select the compressed file format. This can be EML or EJF. This option is only available if the Export Format field is set to ZIP. |
| Include BCC | If selected, messages are included if they are added as BCC contacts. |
| Target Part File Size (GB) | Specify a value in between 1 and 10 that controls the approximate file size of each part in gigabytes. |
| Notification | Specify an email address to be notified when the export is completed. |
- Click Start Export.
- Click Export to review and download exports.
- Download metadata and/or parts of the export by clicking on the download icon
