This article describes the final steps of your Simply Migrate migration project.
Exceptions
Every migration is different; the number of exceptions you may see is based on the data quality; as a general rule, a 1% error rate would typically be seen as a 'good' migration result. If there are any outstanding exceptions, you should first retry all troubleshooting steps in Simply Migrate - Dashboard & Tools.
Once you have tried the troubleshooting, it is likely that any remaining exceptions will result in data Mimecast cannot accept; for example, Mimecast does not accept draft emails, so if the exception is Date Missing it is likely these are drafts.
If you encounter errors during file upload in Simply Migrate, first check the specific error message. In many cases, recently created configurations need 30-45 minutes to propagate. Wait for this period and then retry the upload. If the error persists, contact Mimecast Support with the specific error details for further assistance.
Reporting
Once all the items have been migrated, and the ingestion project is complete, the project success report will become available for download directly from Simply Migrate. The migration close-out report (or project success report) includes details on the items that have been migrated, the error items that failed the migration process, aggregate data as well a detailed list of all the items (in .csv format).
Completing the Project
Once you are happy to complete the project based on the project success report, you will need to select Complete Ingestion via the Ingestion Management application in the Administration Console.
Customers are responsible for decommissioning any servers and access they provided for the migration project.
When Complete Ingestion is selected, the related project will be archived and moved from the Ingestions tab (displaying active migration projects) to the Archive Tab in the Ingestion Management dashboard. The Location File will be voided to stop any more data migration.
Your migration is now complete!
