Mimecast recommends that customers periodically take specific measures to ensure the security of their non-Mimecast accounts and infrastructure. This guide has been assembled to consolidate our recommendation and, consequently, describes how to update your POP3 Journaling Mailbox password:
Mimecast recommends that all customers currently utilizing POP3 consider migrating to SMTP Journaling.
To update your POP3 Journaling Mailbox password:
- Log in to the Mimecast Administration Console.
- Navigate to Archive | Journaling.
- Select the POP3 Journal Service Definition to be updated, and verify both the Mailbox Name and Service Email Address.
- In your mail environment, reset the password for the Journaling Mailbox.
- Enter the newly refreshed Journaling Mailbox password into the Password field of your Mimecast POP3 Journal Service Definition.
- Click on the Save and Exit button.
- To verify the previous changes, select the Journal Service Definition used in the previous steps and click Test Journal Extraction.
Once you have successfully verified these changes in step 8, this action is complete. Support is available for technical questions, but you do not need to notify us when you complete these changes.
