This article contains information on publishing a DMARC record in Bluehost DNS, including step-by-step instructions for adding or editing the record, field configurations, and propagation time for DNS updates. See DMARC record.
After generating your DMARC record you should follow these simple steps to publish your DMARC record into your Bluehost DNS:
- Log in to cPanel of Bluehost.
- Click on the DNS Zone Editor.
- In the Select a Domain section, use the dropdown to select the domain you want to update.
- You will be taken to the DNS Zone Editor.
If you already see a record name with "_dmarc", edit this record instead of creating a new record. This is important as you can't have multiple DMARC records.
- Complete the fields as below:
- Host Record: enter ‘_dmarc’ as Host Record (the TXT record name should be “_dmarc.yourdomain.com”)
- TTL: enter the desired TTL value into the TTL field
- Type: select TXT as Type.
- Points To: enter your custom DMARC Analyzer TXT record in the Points To section (your custom DMARC record as generated by our DMARC record generator).
- To publish your DMARC record, click on the Add Record button.
- You should now wait some time before the first reports will start to arrive in DMARC Analyzer. This is due to DNS caching and the fact that the ISPs mostly send one report each day. This can take up to 72 hours.
