Mimecast Partner - Initiating Partner Change

This article contains information on initiating a partner change from the Partner Portal, including steps to select customers, check eligibility, and confirm the change while agreeing to terms.

From the Partner Portal home page, if you are the incumbent partner, follow these steps to process
initiate a Partner Change.

  1. Click on the Menu toolbar icon.
  2. Select Customers | Complete.

    This can also be actioned from the home page. Select Total Customers | View More.

  1. Select the appropriate customer (use the search bar function if needed).
  1. If the button is Green, the partner change can be initiated for the specific customer. If
    the button is Grey; the partner change cannot be initiated.
  2. Select the (Green) Cancel button to continue the partner change process.
  3. On the Cancel Customer page, there are two types of cancellations to choose from:
          • A partner change where the MSP’s customer is moving to another partner and will be
            keeping some or all their products and services.
          • Cancel where the customer is no longer going to require Mimecast services (continue to
            MSP Portal: Customer Downgrades/Downsell for the Customer Cancellation Process).
  1. Select the Customer Partner Change option to continue with the partner change process.
  2. The Partner Change page will appear.

  1. To progress the partner change, the partner will have to agree to the terms; otherwise, an error
    message will appear indicating that the MSP must accept the terms before continuing.
  2. Once the terms are accepted, select Confirm to continue.
  3. The MSP will be taken to the customer page. Under Recent Customer History, the partner change
    request will be logged. A Mimecast representative will be in contact once the partner changes
    request has been picked up by the Licensing & Renewals team.
