Overview
Mimecast is pleased to announce Single Sign-On (SSO) as an authentication method for end users when reporting messages to Mimecast as Safe, Spam, or Dangerous. Reporting messages requires the user to be authenticated, and the use of Single Sign-On will allow the user's identity information to be included in the report that is generated.
What's changing
CyberGraph now has two options for authentication:
- The 'Login-Less' approach (formerly known as “Magic Links”)
This is the default method and there is no configuration or action that needs to be taken by the CyberGraph administrator for this to work. For this authentication method, the information about the reporting user is encrypted in the Reporting button’s URL. -
Single Sign-On
Using the Single Sign-On authentication method, user authentication relies on integration with the customer’s Identity Provider for SAML authentication.
Recommended actions
To enable Single Sign-On for End User Reporting, you will need to navigate to Cybergraph | Settings from the Mimecast Administration Console to configure CyberGraph. However, note that before doing this you will need to ensure that the prerequisite configuration for CyberGraph (Identity Provider & Settings) has also been completed. For further instructions on how to do this, see Cybergraph 2.0 - Single Sign-On.
