This article contains information on configuring partial domain support during the Mimecast Email Security Cloud Integrated Trial, including steps to restrict mail to specific groups and update settings to limit email scanning scope.
Overview
During the Mimecast Email Security Cloud Integrated Trial, you can restrict mail sent to your organization, by using the partial domain support feature. This will reduce any risk should something go wrong during their evaluation of Mimecast Email Security Cloud Integrated.
Functionality
If you want to evaluate the product's efficacy before full deployment specifically, you can email a specific group, and Mimecast will scan it. This can be selected and enabled during the PROTECT MODE decision during installation or through the Configuration menu after installation.
Mimecast allows you to update this anytime should they want to limit the scope of emails that Microsoft 365 sends to Mimecast for scanning. When making a change, allow at least 5 mins to take effect. This is because Mimecast updates the Exchange Rules only to allow emails for individuals in the selected Target Groups.
Supported Groups:
-
Microsoft 365.
-
Distribution List.
