Brand Exploit Protect - Public Links

What is a Public Link?

The public link allows people who do not have a user in the Brand Exploit Protect dashboard to view a "watered-down" version of a detected URL. Using this feature allows you to share findings related to your brand.

This window will include only publicly available information:

  • DNS Records
  • WHOIS Information
  • Screenshot of the site's content
  • The page's HTML code
  • Certificate history of the URL

How do I create a public link?

To create a public link, navigate to a specific URL's URL Details page and click:

Once clicked, a popup window will appear, showing the public version's link, allowing you to copy the URL and share it:

Within this popup - you have 2 options:

  • Copy the link to your clipboard for sharing purposes.
  • Open the public version and copy the URL from the browser's navigation bar.

It is important to note that public versions will be live for 2 weeks. Multiple public versions can be active for any given URL at a time - so you are always able to go back and create a new one should the need arise, this will not affect any other active public versions in any way.

FAQ

Q: Does a person need to do anything beforehand to access the public version?
A: No, these links are open and ungated - meaning no login or credentials are needed to view them.

Q: What access\role do I need to create a public version?
A: If you have access to the URL's "URL Details" page you can create a public version, there is no specific role or permissions needed other than that to create one.

Q: I want to share this URL with another within the company, but the last link I generated is about to expire, can I create another one?
A: Yes, there can be multiple active public versions at once.
Every new link will start a timer of 2 weeks, without affecting any other active links and their lifecycle.

Q: Will new links be the same URL as the previous ones?
A: No, every generated link will create a new dedicated UUID URL.
