Overview

As part of Mimecast’s ongoing initiative to improve the performance and security of our services we would like to advise you of a change to the connectivity method for On-Premises Directory Integrations. If for any reason we cannot validate the encryption certificate we may not be able to synchronize correctly with your Active Directory. Please verify the encryption certificate used by running a Test Connection for the On-Premises Directory Integrations on your Mimecast account before February 1st, 2023.

The change means that any integration against an On-Premises Active Directory that has been configured to use Encryption Mode > Strict - Trust Enforced may no longer synchronize if we are unable to validate the certificate.

To avoid synchronization failures, verify the validity of the certificate used for On-Premises Directory Integrations.

We recommend tracking the expiration dates of certificates used in your Mimecast environment and testing the synchronization connection periodically to prevent failures.

Recommended actions

To test the validity of your certificate :

• Log in to the Mimecast Administration Console.
• Navigate to Users & Groups | Directory Synchronization.
• Click on the existing On-Premises Directory Integration.
• Click Test Connection.
