This article describes how you can exclude specific senders or recipients from an Impersonation Protect policy by creating an Impersonation Protect Bypass policy. For example, if Targeted Threat Protection - Impersonation Protect is enabled for messages sent from everyone to all internal recipients, but you want a specific team to be exempt.

Configuring an Impersonation Protect Bypass Policy
It can take up to ten minutes for the bypass policy to be applied after saving it.
To configure an Impersonation Protection Bypass policy:
- Log in to the Mimecast Administration Console.
- Navigate to Policies | Gateway Policies | Impersonation Protection Bypass.
- Either select the:

- Policy to be changed.
- New Policy button to create a policy.

- Complete the Options section as required:

Provide a description of the bypass policy to enable you to identify it. This is appended to emails in the archive that have the policy applied.

Click on the Lookup button to display a list of Impersonation Protection definitions. Click on the Select link to the left of the definition to bypass when the policy is triggered.

- Click on the Save and Exit button.
