This article contains information on accessing and using the Mimecast Status Page for updates on service disruptions, subscribing to alerts, and utilizing the Public Status API. It is intended for Administrators.
The Mimecast Status Page provides a single location for updates on key areas of our service. It provides:
- Up-to-date news about service disruptions is displayed on a color-coded banner.
- Both current and historic service disruptions in the last seven days.
- The ability to display each service's status by region.
Accessing the Status Page
To access the status page, either:
- Click and bookmark the https://status.mimecast.com/ link.
- Click on the Status Page menu item in Mimecaster Central.
- The Mimecast Service Status page shows:
- The Status tab displays the current service status.
- The History tab displays incidents that have happened over the last seven days.
The Status Page contains a login button that allows you to access the Mimecast Administration Console.
Displaying Further Information
With the status page displayed, you can drill down into your region to display the status of each service. To display this information:
- Click on the right arrow to expand a Region's display.
- Click on the down arrow to collapse a region's display.
Status Updates
Status Updates are displayed in Green, Orange, or Red banners to depict the severity of the issue. If there are No Service Interruptions, the following Green banner is displayed:
If there is An Issue, an Orange or Red banner is displayed together with details of the incident. For example:
Subscribing or Managing your Subscription for Email and SMS
The Status Page is hosted outside of Mimecast’s infrastructure to provide resilience during a potential service disruption. All subscriptions are self-managed, and Mimecast staff are unable to administer or change these settings on your behalf.
To subscribe to Email, SMS-based alerting, or to manage an existing subscription, click on the Subscribe button to bring up the image below:
New Subscribers
If you are a New Subscriber and want to register for alerts via Email:
- Click on the Email tab.
- Enter your Email address.
- Click on the Subscribe button.
If you are a New Subscriber and want to register for alerts via SMS:
- Click on the SMS tab.
- Enter your Mobile number.
- Click on the Subscribe button.
If you choose to subscribe with an Email Address, we recommend you utilize one separate from your Mimecast account to ensure you’re able to receive the notification during a potential service disruption.
All subscribers will need to Double opt-in by clicking the link in the SMS or Email they receive after signing up, to activate the subscription. During the sign-up process, you are prompted to select the relevant alerts you wish to receive; customers only need to subscribe to the single region which their Mimecast services are hosted from.
Existing Subscribers
Existing subscribers can click on Manage Existing Subscription, where you are prompted to enter your subscribed Email Address or Mobile Number.
- Click Manage Existing Subscription. This option prompts you with the list of alerts you are currently subscribed to.
- Click Edit or Remove to modify your subscription choices.
Public Status API
We are pleased to be able to offer a read-only API to our consumers, which provides a simple GET method to query the current status.

Mimecast is unable to provide any support for API queries to the Status Page. For more information, see the Best Practices page.
