This article describes how to configure a Digest Set for Emails.
The Digest Set emails sent to end users allow them to release, block, or permit messages that are deemed to potentially contain junk/spam content or specific attachments. Instead, these messages are held in a quarantine area called the held queue. Digest set emails can be configured to:
-
-
- Define the frequency of the emails sent.
- Specify the policies that will include messages in the emails.
- Specify the actions end users can take on messages in the held queue.
- Include your company's branding if this is part of your Mimecast subscription.
-
To configure your digest set emails, you need the following records:
Configuring a Digest Set Definition / Policy
This section must be read in conjunction with the Creating / Changing a Digest Sets Definition page.
A digest set definition/policy controls the frequency of the digest set emails sent to end users and specifies the policies used to include messages in the digest set email. The policies that can be used to control the digest set messages are:
- Spam Scanning: See the Configuring Spam Scanning page for further details.
- Attachment Management: See the Configuring Attachment Management page for further details.
- Content Examination: See the Configuring Content Examination page for further details.
-
Impersonation Protect: See the Configuring Impersonation Protect page for further details.
Unlike messages held by other policies, those held by Impersonation Protect are automatically held as a result of detected content that matches an entry in a threat dictionary. You do not need to enable an option in the digest set definition.
Configuring a Notification Sets Definition / Policy
This section must be read in conjunction with the Configuring Notification Sets Definitions and Policies page.
A Notification Set definition/policy allows you to customize the digest set email sent to end users to include:
-
-
- The actions they can take, including whether it can be performed on all or individual messages.
- Specific wording.
- Company branding if this is part of your Mimecast subscription.
-
If no policy is configured, our default notification is used.
