This article contains information on composing messages in Mimecast for Mac, including prerequisites, creating new emails, replying, forwarding as attachments, adding recipients, and using advanced message options for efficient email communication.
Preconditions
- Your administrator has enabled the Compose functionality.
Composing a Message
You can compose a message, by using the following steps:
- Open the Mimecast for Mac application, and ensure you are logged in.
- Use the compose icon to create a new message:
- You can respond to a message by clicking on Reply, Reply All, or Forward.
- You can forward a message(s) as an attachment, by selecting one or more messages, and selecting Forward as Attachment either from the:

- Message menu.
- Right click menu.
- You can then add recipients, subject line, and message body as required.
The auto complete feature matches addresses in your device contacts (if access has been allowed) as well as for around 200 of the most recent messages you've previously sent through Mimecast.
- You can click the Attachment icon to add an attachment.
- Advanced message options can be applied to messages, by selecting the icons in the compose view.
- Once the email has been composed, click Send , to send the message.
