This article contains information on using the Managed Senders functionality in Mimecast Mobile to control email addresses and domains, including viewing, adding, and amending blocked, permitted, and trusted senders.
This allows you to:
- Control your mailbox.
- You don't need to contact an administrator to block / allow specific email addresses or domains.
The Managed Senders functionality only applies to the currently selected mailbox.
Overview
Your Managed Senders list contains the following entries:
- Blocked: Individuals or domains that have been prevented from sending you email.
- Permitted: Individuals or domains that bypass spam checks performed on incoming email.
- Auto Permitted: Individuals or domains that bypass spam checks performed on incoming email as a result of an Auto Allow policy.
- Trusted: Individuals that have been added to your list of trusted users. This is only available to accounts with Targeted Threat Protection - Attachment Protect enabled with the dynamic configuration delivery method set in an Attachment Protection definition. See TTP Attachment Protect - How It Works.
Permitted senders are legitimate external senders, that you wish to accept emails from. When you send an email to an external recipient, they are automatically added to the Auto Allow database. If this external recipient then sends you a message, all spam checks are bypassed. This is useful to prevent legitimate messages from being placed on hold incorrectly.
