This article contains information on using Mimecast Mobile's search features, including Quick, Advanced, and Basic Search, saving searches, accessing recent searches, and viewing archived emails and documents.
Preconditions
Your Administrator has enabled archiving as an account package.
Overview
The Search Views allows you to:
- Perform searches.
- Reply, reply all or forward emails from the search results.
- Access your recent and saved searches.
- View archived files and documents.
- Save search criteria.
- Sort search results according to the Date, From, To, and Subject.
- Search in Smart Tags.
Using Quick Search
You can use Quick Search, by using the following steps:
- Select the Search icon at the top of the From Online Inbox or Online Sent items.
- Complete the search criteria.
- Select Search on the keyboard.
By default, the Subject, Body, and Headers of the message are searched.
The search results are displayed including each message's:
- Sender
- Recipient
- Subject
- Date
- Message Size
- Whether there's an attachment
To preview a message, select it from the list.
Using Advanced Search
You can use the Advanced Search, by using the following steps:
- Select Advanced Search from the main menu.
- Complete the search criteria.
- Select Search on the keyboard.
By default, the Subject, Body, and Headers of the message are searched.
The search results are displayed including each message's:
- Sender
- Recipient
- Subject
- Date
- Message Size
- Whether there's an attachment
To preview a message, select it from the list.
Using Basic Search
Basic Search works in the same way as Advanced Search, but includes fewer criteria that can be specified.
Saving a Search
You can save searches, complete with its search criteria, for use in the future.
You can save a search, by using the following steps:
- Select Save from the search results.
- Assign a name or description for the saved search.
Saved searches are stored in Mimecast, and available to all Mimecast end user applications. Saved searches are accessed from the History tab.
Recent Searches
You can access a list of recent searches, and run a search from the list, by using the following steps:
- Select Recent in the main menu.
- Click on a Search in the list to run it.
