This guide describes how to find your DNS authentication code, and provide it to your external domain's owner. It is intended for Administrators.
The DNS authentication code is used to verify permissions for sending through the Mimecast SPF IP addresses using a domain external to your account. The external domain's owner must enter it as a TXT record into the external domain's DNS in the form:
<DNS_AUTH_CODE>._mime.<EXTERNAL_DOMAIN>. 300 IN TXT "v=MIMEv1;"
You can find your DNS authentication code, by using the following steps:
- Log in to the Mimecast Administration Console.
- Navigate to Account | Account Settings.
- Expand the Account Settings section.
- Copy the DNS Authentication Code value to your clipboard.
- Paste the value into a Text Editor (e.g. Notepad).
- Save the file.
