Overview

Mimecast is aware of a new Microsoft Outlook client, allowing users to opt in to this new release. However, using this new client prevents the automatic display of CyberGraph dynamic banners. CyberGraph banners will display if the user selects to download images within the message and then subsequently trusts the sender.

We are currently reviewing our integration with Microsoft Outlook to formulate a solution that allows us to continue to deliver dynamic CyberGraph banners to Mimecast customers.

Microsoft has not yet released any guidance on the timeline for moving from an opt-in to an opt-out model of the new Outlook for Windows client, nor have they announced the end of support for the current ‘Classic’ Outlook.

Recommended actions

  • Customers using the new Microsoft Outlook can configure CyberGraph banners as text warnings. This configuration setting can be made at the organization level and applies to all users. See the See Also... links below for your CyberGraph version.
  • Customers who still want to display dynamic CyberGraph banners automatically will need to continue to use the 'Classic' Outlook. We will continue to review our product portfolio and how we can best deliver Mimecast features to our customers.
