Overview
Mimecast is pleased to announce that on March 4th, 2024 Mimecast Email Incident Response (MEIR) will make a minor change to remediation reporting. When processing messages that have been classified as malicious, MEIR will report on messages “Identified” rather than messages “Remediated".
What's changing
- Reduction in time to resolve are expected for all MEIR customers. This change will enable Mimecast analysts to work faster and more efficiently. Analysts will no longer wait for remediation to be completed before responding to customers.
- Remediation exports will include the same information with only the “status” field changing.
- Your administrator response will now include the number of messages identified

Recommended actions
There will be no change to the efficacy of MEIR, however note that you may observe an increase in remediated messages in their Email Incident Response dashboard to “Identified” messages may fail to be remediated. The most common reason is that the messages were already deleted by the user, or another internal system, or have already been remediated.
