Aware - Slack Bot for Signal Notifications

This article contains information on enabling Signal Slackbot Notifications for DM and channel notifications, including steps to add the Aware Slackbot to Slack channels for notification setup.

Once the Aware Slackbot is installed as part of the Slack Integration process, users will be able to enable Signal Slackbot Notifications for their Signal Rule Actions:

For DM Notifications, no additional setup is required.

For Channel Notifications, Slack admins need to make sure to add the Aware Slackbot to the channel they would like to use for notifications.

To add the Slackbot to a channel, users must:

  1. Right-click on the Channel and select View Channel Details.

  1. Go to Integrations | Add an App.

  1. Search for and add the Aware bot.

  1. Users will receive a notification stating that "[Aware Bot]" has been added to [#channel-name] by "[user]" in the channel once the bot has been integrated. Subsequently, they will be able to utilize the channel for Slackbot notifications by including it in the Slack Notification settings within their Signal Rule.
