Messages
Messages are any post, comment, reply, or chat within groups and direct messages. You’ll see this metric tracked down to the group level, including private groups and topics. You’ll also see a trend indicating changes compared to the previous time period.
Ways to utilize Messages
- When paired with the Conversation Sentiment or Health Indicator, the volume of messages can yield great insights about company activity, engagement, feelings, and productivity.
Conversation Sentiment Indicator
The Sentiment Indicator measures the overall attitude, mood, feeling, and emotion of conversations in your company's collaboration platform. This metric is tracked down to the group level, including private groups and topics. You’ll also see a trend indicating changes compared to the previous time period.
Ways to utilize the Sentiment Indicator
- Use the indicator to track sentiment at the company, specific group, or topic level.
- Understand if and where a sudden or trending change in sentiment occurs.
- Track campaigns or topics and your employees’ feelings towards them.

Conversation Health Indicator
The Health Indicator measures the overall presence of potentially toxic behaviors, such as inappropriate, offensive, and hate speech, in your company's platform. This metric is tracked at the company and group levels, including private groups.

- Use the indicator to track conversation health at the company or specific group level.
- Pinpoint toxic speech or unproductive conversations within your community.

Difference Between the Conversation Sentiment Indicator and Sentiment
That’s a great question! In Spotlight Topics Report and Group Insights, the Conversation Sentiment Indicator provides a collective measurement of sentiment across a set of messages. You’ll also see a sentiment graph with message counts—this is the volume or quantity of individual messages that scored ‘positive’, ‘negative’ or 'neutral.’
