Overview

Mimecast is excited to announce a forthcoming enhancement to our DNS Authentication - Inbound policy. This feature will offer greater flexibility and control over DMARC authentication through improved notification capabilities.
This allows you to configure notifications for DMARC failure recipients.

What’s changing

In the DMARC Authentication – Inbound policy, administrators can now configure the notifications generated when selecting the DMARC fail option for Honour DMARC Record, as shown in the following screenshot.

The enhancement allows administrators to:

  1. Retain the existing notification to the Internal Recipient, informing them that their email is on hold and pending review.
  2. Allow a notification to be sent to an Administrator Group.

There are no changes to the notification currently sent to the Internal Recipient. This notification is also sent to the Administrator Group. By default, the notification option will be configured to enable the Internal Recipient notification (as per the screenshot) so that the current behavior is retained.

Recommended actions

Review your DNS Authentication – Inbound policies and update the notification options in
the DMARC authentication section.
