MEIR Integration in Analysis & Response and Public API - Migration

Overview

Mimecast announces the integration of Email Incident Response within Analysis & Response. This enhancement provides administrators with additional incident information in a central location, streamlining your response. The updates listed below will be implemented on May 8th, 2025.

Considerations

  • The new functionality will be available through an opt-in process, allowing organizations to transition at their preferred pace and prepare internal processes accordingly.
  • To initiate the opt-in process you can contact your Mimecast representative.

Key Enhancements

Enhancements include the following changes in the Dashboard and new features that will become available.

Dashboard Changes

  • The current Mimecast Email Incident Response Dashboard will stop receiving new information.
  • Historical data remains accessible until July 15th, 2025.
  • Administrator email notifications will be discontinued.

New Features

  • Enhanced visibility through the Analysis & Response platform.
  • New API implementation with Push notification capabilities.
  • Faster response times to assist in reducing the dwell time of malicious messages.

New Experience

An Overview to Expose Malicious End-User Reports

  • Provides quick insight into impact with grouping to reduce notifications.
  • Allows you to contact (”Follow-up”) MSOC directly if you have questions/remarks.

  • MSOC analysis details (“Analyst Notes” card).
  • Remediation Results.
  • Targeted Users.
  • Reporters.
  • URLs, Scanning Results & User Clicks.
  • Message Scanning Details.
  • Email Authentication.

Recommended actions

We recommend that you look at the Analysis & Response platform and prepare any internal processes. You can inform Mimecast if you’d like to opt in by contacting your Mimecast representative who will then assist in facilitating a smooth transition.

  • I know that it's available but the documentation above says that after July 15th, the opt-in period ends and the new functionality will become the default and the old functionality will become unavailable. Looks like that didn't happen, so I assume the deadline was extended but someone dropped the ball and didn't update the documentation on this page. Would you be so kind and update the documentation with the new deadline here on this page?
