Overview
Mimecast is pleased to announce that we are introducing a new feature for localization of the Administrator UI Experience as well as the Email Notifications and Reports.
What's changing
- Profile Settings - Localization settings
- Account Configuration - Localization settings
Defaults for new customers:
Language – Billing Country.
Time zone – AWS region.
Time Format – 24hr.
Defaults for existing customers: To avoid sudden changes in experiences, the following settings will be applied for existing customers. The administrator can update this in the account configuration.
Language – en-US (current language in use).
Time zone – AWS region.
Time Format – 24hr.
Points to note:
An audit log entry will be made for every change to the Account settings or Profile settings.
If two administrators are concurrently trying to change the language - the last one saved, will be captured.
- What will be impacted by the language setting?
Includes all email notifications received from CI. Includes the subject, body and copyright.
Includes Threat Scan, Weekly, Monthly Reports.
- Administrator UI experience.
Administrator UI Defaults:

Language & Time zone - Auto [imported from Browser settings].
Browser language will be mapped based on the root language. For example, browser code French Belgium (fr-be) will default to French. Browser code ‘fr-ca’ French Canadian will stay French Canadian.

Administrators will not be able to change these settings, until after the set-up process is complete and they have access to the Administrator UI.
Recommended actions
Administrators can override the default settings as required, by navigating to the profile settings or account configuration.
