Enhanced Audit Logs - Apr 2025

Overview

Mimecast is pleased to announce an enhancement to Audit Logs within our CI platform. This update will enhance the audit trail of administrative activity in CI by capturing four additional types of events in the Audit Log which will be stored for a period of 60 days.

What's changing

• Administrators will have access to more detailed information relating to events in the CI Audit Logs. The new events that will be captured include:
  • Viewed Detection Event: When a detection is viewed in the system, this is tracked to allow administrators to monitor activity related to threat investigation and ensure accountability.
  • BEC Content View Event: When a user views the content of a Business Email Compromise (BEC) detection, this is tracked for administrators to monitor sensitive investigations and ensure compliance.
  • Logout Event: When a user logs out of the system, this is tracked for administrators to maintain a comprehensive record of user sessions for security and auditing purposes.
  • Export Event: When users export logs, this is captured to maintain visibility of audit activity.

No action is required for administrators relating to these enhancements.
