Overview
Mimecast is pleased to announce that we are changing how the progress of Sync & Recover (CG) sync tasks and mailboxes are surfaced.
This initiative aims to provide a more accurate representation of sync progress along with additional context for failing syncs.
What's changing
- We are changing how the progress of Mimecast Sync & Recover (CG) sync tasks and mailboxes are surfaced.
- The columns in the Synced Mailboxes and View Task Details pages have been renamed for clarity:
- 'Last Status' and 'Last Results' are now 'State'.
- 'Last Activity' is now 'Last Sync'.
- During ongoing sync, the 'Last Sync' column will temporarily display 'In Progress', replacing the previous last activity date/timestamp.
-
Task State Reporting:
- In the Sync Tasks page, the 'Status' column has been renamed to 'State' for consistency.
-
Updated Mailbox and Task States:
- Mailboxes and tasks can now transition through various states based on specific conditions. Below is a summary of the new states and what they indicate:
Mailbox States:
- Pending: Mailbox remains in this state until initial sync is completed.
- Healthy: Mailbox is syncing without errors, with tolerable occurrences of minor issues.
- Duplicate: Mailbox is already being synced by another task.
- Skipped: Mailbox is not syncing. Reasons may include mailbox not found, disabled, or authentication issues, and can be viewed in the tooltip.
- Attention: Irrecoverable sync errors that may require you to contact Mimecast Support.
Task States:
- Enabled: Task is actively syncing mailboxes with no critical issues.
- Disabled: Task is inactive, and no mailboxes are syncing.
- Configuration Issue: One or more mailboxes are in Skipped state, but none in Attention.
- Needs Attention: One or more mailboxes are in the Attention state.
- [Coming soon] Initializing: One or more mailboxes are in the Pending state.
