This article provides a guide to configure the Address Alterations Bypass Policy. It overrides an existing Address Alterations policy, thereby providing added control over when (and to what) a policy is applied. For example, if you send an outbound message from a generic email address, an Address Alteration Bypass policy can enable or disable the address alteration.
Mimecast offers features that result in an email message being altered. For example, the application of:
- Address alteration.
- Attachment stripping and linking.
- Document sets.
- Scan settings (e.g., using a policy to tag headers).
- Stationery layouts.
An Address Alteration Bypass policy ensures messages aren't altered by these policies. The message is archived, but none of the alteration policies are applied.
