Error adding user to a watchlist via integration or the API

Issue resolved
This issue was resolved on November 16, 2023. There are no longer errors with processes that use the Code42 API to add users to watchlists.

If you use integrations to add users to watchlists, you may receive an error when attempting to add users created after September 28, 2023. This is due to a recent change in the method by which the Code42 API obtains the user's ID.

Code42 is actively working to correct this issue and will release a fix in the near future for all affected integrations. Until then, see the Recommended solution section below for steps to manually add users to watchlists.

Affects

• Processes that use the Code42 API to add users to watchlists, including Incydr Flows, first and third-party integrations, and custom API scripts.
• Applies only to users created after September 28, 2023.

Recommended solution

Because the Code42 console is not affected by this issue, you can manually add a user to a watchlist:

1. Sign in to the Code42 console.
2. Go to User Activity > Watchlists.
3. Select a watchlist.
4. Click Edit users.
5. Select By individuals and search for a user.
6. Select the user, then click Add.
