Aware 2.0 - How to Execute a Search

This article contains a video which provides a step-by-step guide on how to create a search using Aware's Search and Discover module.

 

 

The following provides key points of the process:

  1. Start a New Search: Click on Create a new Search and provide a description that reflects the purpose of your search.
  2. Choose Search Type: Select the type of search you want to conduct. The options include:
  • User: This allows you to search conversations authored by a specified user or users.
  • Platform Group: This enables you to search for conversations within a group, community, or channel.
  • Keyword Search: This allows you to search through all messages types and locations by keyword and Direct Message (DM) conversations.
  • DM Conversations: This search type allows you to search for direct message conversations involving specified users or including specified users.
  • Emails: This search enables uses to quickly and efficiently search across archived email communications within Mimecast's Unified Search platform.
  • Slack: This search allows users to perform forensic searches across Slack conversations, including direct messages, channels, and even edited or deleted content.
  • Include Keywords: This allows you to search though all message types and locations by keyword and Direct Message (DM) conversations.
  • Fill in Required Fields: Complete the rest of the required fields of your search. These will vary based on the search type you chose. For instance, a user search would require an email address.
  • Add Keywords: If appropriate, add any keywords that you want to search for specifically within your search.
  • Mark the Files Checkbox: If keywords are searched, you can check the Mark the Files checkbox if you wish to scan any files for a defined keyword.
  • Define Search Range: You can search all data or within a custom time frame. this helps refine search results to only relevant data and speeds up processing time.
  • Choose AI Analysis: Select appropriate analysis options. These provide more filtering options when you review your results using Aware's machine learning and natural language processing technology.
  • Start the Search: Click Start Search to begin processing your search.
