Overview

Mimecast is pleased to announce an enhancement to the Mimecast Awareness Training platforms, specifically within the Phishing Template functionality. This update introduces a difficulty level feature to phishing templates, enabling administrators to better understand and manage the complexity of their campaigns.

What's changing

  • Introduction of Difficulty Levels:
A new difficulty level field has been added to the phishing template customization page.
Difficulty levels will be categorized as Low, Medium, and High and will be displayed in a dropdown menu within the template customization page.
If an admin edits a pre-existing template, the difficulty level will become editable.
  • Mandatory Difficulty Selection:
When creating or editing a phishing template, selecting a difficulty level will be mandatory.
If no difficulty level is selected, a pop-up message will prompt the admin: “Please select a difficulty level.” This will follow the existing UI patterns within the template editor.
  • UI Enhancements:
The difficulty level will be displayed on the phishing template page in a manner similar to the existing "Category" field. See screenshots below:

  • Technical Guidance:
Pre-mapped difficulty levels for existing phishing templates will be based on the NIST Phish Scale Calculator.
Admins will have the ability to assign difficulty levels to any custom templates they create.
