This article contains information on using Mimecast Human Risk Command Center (HRCC) to generate security scorecards, foster team competition, engage leadership, and prioritize training by analyzing risk data to improve organizational security behaviors.
Step 1: Generate Department and Team-Level Security Scorecards
- Collect and Aggregate Data: Use Mimecast Human Risk Command Center (HRCC) to gather behavioral data and risk signals from across your organization. Widen your net to understand what risks may be going unnoticed.
- Look at Department and Location scorecards to understand phishing simulation results, real-world phishing responses, and secure browsing behaviors.
Step 2: Foster Friendly Competition by Sharing Anonymized Rankings or Progress Reports
- Create Anonymized Leaderboards: Mimecast's HRCC can generate anonymized rankings or progress reports that compare departments or teams without exposing individual identities.
- Publish and Share Reports: Distribute these leaderboards and progress reports regularly (e.g., monthly) via dashboards, emails, or intranet portals accessible to relevant stakeholders using the Campaigns feature of Scorecards.
- Encourage Positive Competition: Frame the competition as friendly and constructive, highlighting improvements and celebrating top performers to motivate teams without creating stigma.
Step 3: Encourage Leaders to Use Scorecards to Motivate Teams and Allocate Support
- Equip Managers with Coaching Resources: Supply managers with talking points, coaching guides, and communication templates to facilitate security conversations and reinforce positive behaviors.
- Engage Leadership by Location: Share aggregated risk metrics and competition summaries with leaders to maintain strategic focus and support by business location or function with HRCC's Risk Analysis tab.
- Promote Accountability and Recognition: Encourage managers and leaders to recognize achievements publicly and use scorecard insights to motivate continuous improvement.
Step 4: Use Insights to Prioritize Training and Interventions Where Most Needed
- Identify High-Risk Teams and Behaviors: Analyze scorecard data in the Risk Analysis section of HRCC to pinpoint departments or teams with elevated risk scores or negative behavior trends.
- Assign Targeted Training and Nudges: Use Mimecast Engage to deliver personalized nudges to the identified groups, focusing your resources efficiently.
- Monitor Impact and Iterate: Track changes in risk scores and behavior over time to assess the effectiveness of interventions and adjust strategies accordingly.
