Overview

Mimecast is pleased to announce enhancements to Search & Discover that streamline investigation workflows and improve administrator access management. These updates include new capabilities for marking data within the ASK (AI-powered search) experience, the ability to exclude specific users from email searches, and expanded initial access options for Full Administrators.

Mark Data in ASK Experience

HR, Legal, and Compliance teams can now mark relevant data directly within the ASK experience without needing to exit to the main search view. This enhancement enables a complete end-to-end workflow within ASK for faster investigation times.

Mark messages as relevant directly from ASK verbatim results
Visual indicator shows marked data status in the verbatim list
Toggle marking on/off with a single click
Eliminates the need to switch between ASK and search results to mark content

Exclude Users from Email Search

A new exclusion capability allows investigators to refine email searches by excluding specific users from results. This is particularly useful for Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) where the focus is on communications about an individual rather than communications sent or received by that individual.

Exclude users by prefixing email addresses with a minus sign (e.g., -user@company.com).
Excluded users are visually distinguished with a red highlight.
Search results will exclude all messages to or from excluded users.
Available for email searches only.

Full Administrator Access to Search & Discover

Full Administrators can now accept the Aware disclaimer and gain initial access to Search & Discover, in addition to Super Administrators. This expands the options for organizations to configure initial access to Aware applications.

Full Administrators can accept the disclaimer when clicking on the Aware Application.
Provides flexibility for organizations where Super Administrator access is restricted.
Once accepted, administrators can access the Aware dashboard and configure user roles.

Action Required

No immediate action is required as a result of these enhancements. The new features will be automatically available to users with appropriate Search & Discover permissions.
