Overview
Mimecast is pleased to announce an update to our Threat Share integrations to provide more accurate threat intelligence to third-party platforms.
What's changing
- Inbound-only sharing: Only threats from incoming emails will be shared externally. Internal and outbound email alerts are now excluded from Threat Share.
- Impersonation Protection domain similarity requirement: For Impersonation Protection events, data will only be shared with third-party platforms if a domain similarity match is detected.
These changes further reduce the likelihood of sharing legitimate domains with third-party platforms, increasing protection against real threats.
Recommended actions
Nothing needs to be done as a result of these changes.
If you disabled a Threat Share integration due to false positives, we encourage you to re-enable it, as this update addresses those issues. For guidance on re-enabling an integration, refer to your platform's documentation.
