User Portal - User Preferences

This article contains information on accessing and updating User Portal Preferences, including Language, Time Zone, Date and Time Formats, Calendar Start Day, Homepage Selection, and Custom Signatures.

Accessing Preferences

You can navigate to Preferences by using the following steps:

1. Log in to the User Portal.
2. Clicking the Settings icon in the top right-hand corner and select Preferences.

Overriding the Default Language

The User Portal automatically checks browser settings for supported Languages. Where no match is found, the User Portal defaults to US English.

  1. This may be overridden by changing the Language option to match the required Language.

  2. Select Save once complete.

Overriding the Default Time Zone

The User Portal automatically detects the Time Zone from the browser.

  1. This may be overridden by changing the Time Zone option to match the required zone.

  2. Select Save once complete.

Overriding the Default Date Format

The User Portal automatically detects the Date Format from the browser.

  1. This may be overridden by changing the Date Format option as required.

  2. Select Save once complete.

Overriding the Default Time Format

The User Portal automatically detects the Time Format from the browser.

  1. This may be overridden by changing the Time Format option as required.

  2. Select Save once complete.

Select the First Day of the Week in the Calendar

The User Portal defaults to Monday as the start of the working week when browsing the Calendar view.

  1. Choose the required Day from the list.

  2. Select Save once complete.

Changing the Default Homepage

By default, the User Portal opens onto the Homepage, or the default as set by your administrators.

  1. Select which view should be the new default.

  2. Select Save once complete.

Adding a Custom Signature to Messages

By default, Stationery set up by your Administrators will automatically be added to messages sent as they pass through the Mimecast email gateway. You may add an additional signature should you wish.

Mimecast recommends checking this with your Administrators first as any changes added may not be agreeable with the Administrator group.

  1. Use the editor to compose and format your Signature as required.

  2. Select Save once complete.
