Overview
Mimecast is pleased to announce enhancements to Aware's Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) system. This update introduces four new Aware system roles and establishes automatic role mapping between Mimecast administrator roles and their Aware counterparts, streamlining user access management across both platforms. A new 'Manage System Settings' permission is also introduced, giving administrators greater control over who can view and modify Aware system configuration.
What's changing
- Four new Aware system roles are introduced: Partner Admin, Sys Admin:Basic, Sys Admin:Read Only, and Basic Admin.
- Mimecast administrator roles now map to Aware system roles. Users with mapped Mimecast roles are automatically assigned the corresponding Aware role on login.
- A new 'Manage System Settings' permission has been introduced that controls whether a role can view and update the System Settings page in Aware.
Recommended actions
Review existing Aware role assignments for users who also hold Mimecast administrator roles. Be aware that any custom Aware role assignment for these users will be overridden by the Mimecast→Aware role mapping on next login.
