Overview

Mimecast is pleased to announce two new capabilities in Search & Discover in Aware 2.0: Inline image/file previews and in-product translation. Together, these updates help analysts get to context and intent faster, while keeping sensitive data inside the platform instead of on local devices or in third-party tools.

What's changing

Inline Image/File Previews in Context:

• You can preview message attachments directly in the conversation without downloading it.
• Supported inline previews in the context pane include images, PDF, CSV, TXT, and HTML files and common Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Currently available for chat-based collaboration platforms; email support is coming soon.
• Use Show Images to expand or collapse previews in the thread, or open a larger view from the attachment card.
• You can view but not edit previewed content since previews are read-only.

In-Product Translation:

• When reviewing a conversation in Signal or Search & Discover, you can translate message content into another language without leaving the page.
• Choose a language, then translate all messages in the thread at once, or translate a single message from that message's menu. You can switch back to the original text at any time.
• Only the message content is translated. Names, dates, and other page details remain as they are.
• Currently available for chat-based collaboration platforms. Export functionality for translated content is limited to individual PDF exports.

Recommended actions

Nothing needs to be done as a result of these changes. Both features are available automatically wherever supported.
