This article provides an overview of the Mimecast Personal Portal, including its features, settings, accessing delegate mailboxes, submitting feedback, troubleshooting login issues, and addressing known issues for uninterrupted email management.
What is the Mimecast Personal Portal?
The Mimecast Personal Portal is an end-user application that provides uninterrupted access to your mailbox. An internet connection is required to manage your email communications across a range of devices. The Mimecast Personal Portal ensures uninterrupted email security by remaining functional during a server outage and allows your End Users to stay productive. During the outage, they can use secure messaging, access archived messages, calendar and use the Large File Send service.
This set of articles aims to help you use the Mimecast Personal Portal, providing steps and information that will assist with accessing your mailbox and using each of the available features.

- Log in to the Mimecast Administration Console.

Delegate Mailboxes
This section describes how to access delegate mailboxes in the Mimecast Personal Portal, where access has been configured. It is intended for End Users.
If you've been assigned delegate mailbox access, you are able access and use Mimecast Personal Portal to a specific user's mailbox.
During a Continuity event, delegate access is still available and operates in the same way.
Accessing a Delegated Mailbox
You can access a delegate mailbox by using the following steps:
- Click on your Profile Avatar in the top right-hand corner. A list of the delegated accounts you can access is displayed.
- Click on the Open button next to the delegate mailbox you want to access. A new browser tab is displayed for the delegate's account.
- Once access to a delegate's mailbox is displayed, all the functionality available to your account is available for the delegate's account. This includes the ability to access their:
-
- Inbox and Sent Items folder.
- Archive folders.
- Calendars.
- Personal / Moderated On Hold queues.
- Bounced / Rejected Messages lists.
- Managed Senders lists.
When composing a message, it is sent from the delegated user.
To switch back to your profile, click on the original browser tab.

Troubleshooting & Known Issues
Troubleshooting
You can log in to the Mimecast Personal Portal using either your network password, or a Mimecast Cloud password (depending on what has been configured by your Administrator). Your organization may also enable Two-Step Authentication, which requires a secure token to log in.
If you are unable to log in, it could be due to one of the following:
- A problem with your organization's internal directory server.
- Not having a Cloud password. This can either be created by the Administrator, or they may enable you access to set it for yourself.
- You don't have the correct permission assigned to your account.
- An issue with your security identity provider, if you're using SAML Single Sign-On Authentication.
Web Browser Compatibility
If you experience issues when logging in to Mimecast Personal Portal, they may be related to your credentials or your Web Browser's compatibility. See the Browser Support Matrix page for full information.

Please make documentation the references the “New Menu” in the Admin Console…
There's a banner at the top of this page that says “The images in this article reflect the new MPP User Interface, which could differ from your end user experience. Please review the Mimecast Personal Portal Settings section for details on switching to the new UI" but there are almost no images of the new MPP User Interface anywhere in the article. Where is the guide on the full new MPP User Interface, not just instructions on how to enable it and how to access delegate mailboxes?
Hi saskin _adm, many thanks for your feedback.
The above article has been updated; the navigation steps and images relating to the Mimecast Administration Console now reflect the “New Menu” appearance.
