Overview
Mimecast is pleased to announce several enhancements to Awareness Training, Reporting & Insights, scheduled for the week of October 24th, 2023. This includes improvements to how your company risk score is calculated.
To provide a more accurate score, the updated calculation will:
- Exclude inactive users who have left the organization.
- Narrow the dataset from the last two years to the last six months.
This update is designed to improve measurement of company risk, but it could result in an immediate decrease in your company risk score. There’s no need to be alarmed by this change.
What's changing

Awareness Training is introducing a series of reporting enhancements to the Watchlist, User Performance, and User Risk tables.
- The enhanced Watchlist and User Performance tables can be accessed through the new Compliance Center.
- The enhanced User Risk table can be accessed via the Risk Center.
- This also includes a new User Record drill-down view for both the Watchlist and User Performance tables.
- Enhancements to reporting will include:
- A more granular approach, making it easier to search, filter and aggregate data across any linked directory attribute.
- A new Filter fly-out menu.
- PDF reporting available directly in the console, without needing to convert raw data into .xlsx format.
New & Enhanced Filtering
Once you have linked attributes and added the required columns, you will be able to select Filter, which will open the new Filter fly-out menu.
You will be able to select up to ten filters, to drive reporting.
The top-level statistics section will appear at the top of reports, and will aggregate and highlight data for Watchlist, User Performance and User Risk tables. This section will update continuously as you apply filters, showing a high-level overview in seconds.
- For Email Security Cloud Gateway administrators, once you have linked attributes (e.g. Department, Location, Company, Supervisor) via the Mimecast Administration Console, you'll be able to apply filters and create reports at both high-level and a granular level.
- For Email Security Cloud Integrated administrators, your attributes (City, Country, Job Title, Physical Delivery Office Name and Department) will be automatically synchronized for you.
- You will no longer need to add custom reporting columns each time, as these preferences will now be saved, using a cookie.
PDF Reporting
After applying your required filters, you can Generate PDF directly from the console, to produce a report that will highlight the most valuable data, as well as comparative statistics.
User Records
You will now be able to review specific users, to see their complete performance log. You will see appropriate user records automatically, depending on where it's loaded from:
- Watchlist Details table will show outstanding modules.
- User Performance table will show the full chronological history.
You will also be able to generate user-level reports, which will give details of their module performance and a 12-month simulation breakdown.
