Overview

Mimecast is pleased to announce the release of Profile Group Backup, Restore and Export functionality for Email Security Cloud Gateway Configuration Backup & Restore API endpoints.

What's changing

In addition to Managed Senders and Managed URLs, the existing API endpoints will also support Profile Groups. By backing up Profile Group configuration, customers can protect it against human error, roll back to a prior state, or export an offline record of the current configuration for audit and change control purposes. Customers can perform up to 24 backups of each data type per day, and each backup is retained for 90 days.

Mimecast already offers endpoints for finding, creating, updating, and deleting Profile Groups, as well as listing, adding, and removing group members. These endpoints are documented here.

The new backup, restore, and export functionality should be consistent with the operation of these endpoints. 

This is an API-only release and uses our new API 2.0.
